About the Cleveland Fagowees

We organize events and trips throughout the year. If you’re a competitive skier or boarder of any skill level, we participate in the Cleveland Metro Ski Council (CMSC). This is an organization that provides an organized racing schedule where we compete against several other Cleveland Ski Clubs over the course of the winter skiing season. The races are held at several resorts in Ohio and New York.

We need racers! If you’ve ever raced NASTAR, give us a try. You’ll be part of team as well as competing for yourself.

If recreational skiing is more your speed, all members are welcome at all events, racing or not. We even go out west at least once a season! Even people who don’t like the cold find the us a great club. We have social events of many kinds all year long. From winery trips and tailgate parties to boating and camping, you’ll find things you love to do with a great bunch of people!

Just Want to be Social?
We get it, not everybody is an outdoor adventurer. That’s why there’s plenty of indoor and social events too! Every month there’s a happy hour or winery trip, a downtown lunch and several more informal gatherings. Not to mention the parties we throw throughout the year including the Ski Awards Banquet, a “Getting to Know You”, a Halloween bash and, of course, Christmas merrymaking.
From theater and dinner outings to Guardians and Browns tailgate parties – tickets included of course – we have the fun covered from all angles. Our regular meetings aren’t too shabby either, there’s information on upcoming trips, raffle prizes, snacks and drinks!
SUMMER EVENTS
Soak up our Summer events
We pack the summer with trips and events! Every summer is full of fun things to do. Annual events such as:
- Annual Golf Outing: a four person scramble at a selected area course.
- Put-in-Bay: a weekend party during the island’s most lively times.
- Horseback Riding: a chance to get out into the woodlands on horseback.
- Whitewater Rafting: paddle down the Upper Gauley River in West Virginia on a wet and wild rafting adventure.
These trips, just to name a few, will keep you in the sun and having fun all summer long! You’ll also be able to participate in many weekday evening events such as: volleyball, bicycling, golf and softball. They’re a great way to get outside and break up the work week.
WINTER EVENTS

Just Want to Ski or Snowboard?
It’s important to know that all the racing events are also very much intended for recreational skiing, boarding or whatever!
In fact, Some of our best winter trips are not racing events. At least once a season we go out west for a week trip to various resorts. Over the years we’ve gone to Aspen, Jackson Hole, Vail, Tahoe, Big Sky, and Whistler, just to name a few. March 2019 saw over 100 of our skiers at Jackson Hole.
