Recreational Snow Sports
Winter is our season! Join us for some fun on the slopes whether it’s a local run, in NY, PA, VT, or in a different time zone! We regularly take trips all over the US and Canada.
Competitive Snow Sports
If you’re a competitive skier or ‘boarder of any skill level, we participate in the Cleveland Metro Ski Council (CMSC). This is an organization that provides an organized racing schedule where we compete against several other Cleveland Ski Clubs over the course of the winter skiing season. The races are held at several resorts in Ohio and New York.
Year-Round Social Events
We love being outside, enjoying each others’ company, and playing cards! If you’re into euchre, pinochle, hiking, biking, water skiing, boating, kayaking, ziplining, rock climbing, billiards, wineries, breweries, sporting events, good food, or great friends then we’ve got something going on for YOU!

The “Fagowees” name is an acronym that stands for Fun And Games On Weekends Especially Skiing. There’s also another explanation that involves a skiing Indian tribe that got lost. If you haven’t heard this one, ask a member.
Meetings of the Fagowees – Cleveland Branch are scheduled twice monthly on the first and third Tuesday of the month. Most meeting are held at the American Legion Post #572, 6483 State Rd., Parma, Ohio from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Please note that during the summer months of June, July, August, and September the meeting on the first Tuesday is an informal meeting for socializing at a local establishment. This location is announced in advance. The meeting on the third Tuesday during the summer months is held at the American Legion Post #572. The meetings at the Post are a social event with announcements for upcoming events and trips.
The Fagowees organize many different types of trips, events, and activities. We also have a race team for skiers and snowboarders who wish to compete.
Membership in the Fagowees is open to all those wishing to participate. The qualifications are basic: have a zest for life, be adventurous, and enjoy the company of others. Fagowees are comprised of singles, married couples, young and the young of heart. Individual economic situation is of little importance. The low cost of many activities allows all to participate.
